E-books format Verus printed version of books.

I have people, saying I should get a kindle.  but I love the printed verson of the books more than a e book. Should I get up with the times and read the book in an ebook format? or am I that old fashion? I have an IPhone and IPad, but, I am trying to stay away from getting the kindles.

 I do think I have enough toys at the moment. I am just wondering is Ebooks better than printed version of the book? is it more handy to have the ebook on the kindle than the printed version? I do love going inot the local libraries wherever i am  to check out to see what they have on the shelves. Also on how they do things differently to other libraries.
