I did really enjoyed reading this book. when the letters started arriving for her to learn to live again and to get out of the houses and to do stuff that she will never do.

Bendigo Writers Festival

Bendigo Writers Festival is happening on 9 -11 August. This is in the second year running and it  mostly talks about writing and books.  Lots of seminars happening over the three days. I cannot wait for this.  I have attached the programs.  

What Happen in the month of June and may recap.

There are a lot of books that I want to read but it seem there is  not enough time to read, them all.  Also there was a lot of literary awards that were shortlisted that came out over the last couple of months. I have been trying to keep up the reading around all these awards that have been coming out.

shortlisted awards were :

The Primer literary awards was announced at the start of last month. This are divieded into six sections. Fiction,
Poetry,  Non-fiction,  Australian history,  Young adult fiction,  and Children’s fiction. I am hoping that the winners will be announced soon, But I am not sure when they will announced these.

Inky awards Longlisted that was announced last month, this is  held in conjunction with the State Library of Victoria and inside a dog. This is divided into two section. An International award and the Australian awards. The short list would be announced in August and the winner of the both section will be announced in November.

The Yabba awards allows each students from across the different states are ask what is their Favourite Australian book or Australian author. this is done in the first part of the year and the students are encourage to read these books.  this is divided into four sections.  and was  was established around 1956.  Winners will be announced around November.











CBCA awards which is short for the Children Book Council of Australia was announced in April, the winner of each sections for the CBCA would be announced in August. Better keep an eye out for that one. The CBCA was  established in 1945.

I never really have read any of Jackie French books before. I have really enjoyed reading this book.
